Causes of facial ageing
Our skin inevitably changes over time. At some point, environmental factors and loss of hormones cause every face to lose its youthfulness and age. Beautiful, smooth and elastic skin is no longer a given. Four changes accompany this skin ageing process.
Hydration production slows down
Hyaluronic acid provides natural moisture and keeps the skin smooth, firm and elastic. From the age of 45 and especially at menopause, the natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases significantly. This results in dry and less supple skin, often with folds and lines.

Bone and fat volume decreases
The bone and fat tissue that provides volume to the skin also decreases over time. This loss of volume leaves the face feeling empty and causes the skin to sag.

Thinning skin and reduced blood supply
The skin receives less oxygen and nutrients. The natural production of collagen (responsible for skin firmness) and elastin (responsible for skin elasticity and repair) also starts to slow down. With ageing skin, we also often see pigmentation disorders (age spots).

As facial muscles contract, crow's feet and a frown line form, giving one a worried or sullen facial expression.

Why fillers and/or Botulinum Toxin A?
By using a filler and/or Botulinum Toxin A for different areas of the face, we can target wrinkles, fine lines and deep folds. They can effectively be reduced and smoothed out, with volume restored and skin hydrated. This treatment is used for frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow's feet. Botulinum Toxin makes you look less worried or angry. Botulinum Toxin A can also be used for other applications, such as treatment for excessive sweating or chronic migraines.
What is the difference between fillers and Botulinum Toxin A?
A filler fills the wrinkle, making it less visible. Botulinum Toxin is a protein that causes your facial muscles to relax and stop contracting. As the treated muscles and facial expression relax, the cause of the wrinkle forming is eliminated.
A Botulinum Toxin treatment with a natural effect
The art of Botulinum Toxin placement is that the face should look relaxed, but not frozen, after administration. A minimum level of movement is required for a natural look. Therefore, always leave a Botox treatment to an experienced specialist.

Botulinum Toxin against excessive sweating: Hyperhidrosis, better known as excessive sweating, can significantly affect quality of life. The application of Botulinum Toxin A can also be a very effective treatment for excessive sweating of the armpits. Here, botulinum toxins are placed in the armpits so that excessive perspiration is eliminated for about 6 months.

Botulinum toxin against migraine: atients suffering from chronic migraines are also very good candidates for Botulinum Toxin A injections. This involves injecting botulinum toxin into the small muscles under your skin at various locations or trigger points, such as the forehead, temples, and the back of your head and neck. This migraine treatment can be very effective in reducing the frequency of headaches and can reduce the debilitating symptoms associated with migraines.
What else do you need to know about Botulinum Toxin treatment?

The skin may be a little red and slightly swollen after the treatment, but this usually disappears after half an hour.

With each injection, you run the risk of bruising, but this is not always the case.

The skin is sensitive after treatment, so it is best to avoid sun exposure and saunas for the first few days after Botulinum Toxin treatment.

You should not sit with your head bent forward or lie down for the first 3 hours after treatment.

These treatments have a temporary effect and should be repeated. Your treating physician can tell you when approximately this is best done.

You do not have to take time off work for this treatment.

Non-permanent hyaluronic acid filler
These temporary fillers, based on the body's own substances, are broken down again by the body over time.

Semi-permanent fillers
These fillers contain an artificial ingredient and stimulate collagen production, making the effect of the filler last longer.

This product is injected by micro-injections into the skin of the face, neck, décolleté and hands. These fillers are effective for extremely dry skin and sun-damaged skin.

What is a thread lift?
A thread lift, also known as Facial Threads, gives the face a lift without surgery. This involves using specialised surgical threads to lift ageing, sagging skin and give your face a tighter, more youthful appearance. These surgical threads ('facial threads') are composed of biodegradable polymers that are compatible with the human body. They usually dissolve between 10 and 12 months. The threads have a unique design and can anchor themselves in the underlying tissues of the skin.
Why Facial Threads?
A thread lift restores freshness to the face by alleviating the fatigue that often accompanies ageing. The thread lift has a lifting effect on various areas of the face, such as cheekbones, neck, eyebrows and jaws. Facial Threads are also used to correct marionette lines to restore asymmetry in the face.
What else do you need to know about thread lifts?

This procedure can be combined with other treatments, such as a preparatory laser or peel, to improve skin texture. Fillers and Botulinum Toxin are also not a contraindication.

Depending on the number of threads to be placed, the treatment takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

This procedure can take place under local anaesthesia or mild sedation.

Possible side effects include stiffness and mild pain, which we can treat with a painkiller. Bruising can be controlled immediately after the procedure by cooling the skin with ice.

Why HIFU treatment?
The revolutionary HIFU technique is on the rise in medical-cosmetic treatments. This is rightly so: it is an effective skin rejuvenation for the face, neck and décolleté. It also gives good results in tightening the skin of the upper arms. The effect can be an excellent alternative to a facelift.
For whom is HIFU less suitable?
If your skin is very sagging or has been extensively damaged by the sun, this technique will not produce sufficient results. As such, another treatment may be more appropriate, such as a facelift. We would be happy to advise you accordingly.

With HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), we use a device that emits highly concentrated sound waves of energy a few millimetres deep into your skin. This energy produces a very localised warming of deeper skin cells. In turn, this causes the skin tissue to produce collagen, which tightens the skin.
