Injecting your own fat with lipofilling

Lipofilling

Why lipofilling?

As we age, our bodies are subject to external as well as internal influences. This is a natural and normal process, but it's difficult for many of us. This is where lipofilling can be a solution.

Lipofilling

What is lipofilling?

Lipofilling is a revolutionary technique to remove excess fat tissue from one area of the body and reinsert it in another body area where fat is deficient, such as lipofilling of the buttocks, lipofilling of the face or hands (for a rejuvenated appearance) or lipofilling of breasts (breast augmentation). It is a form of liposculpture that recycles the patient's own fat tissue. In lipofilling, the fat collected by liposuction or liposculpture is not thrown away but is used to fill breasts, face or hands.

Our approach

  • During an initial consultation, we discuss in detail what lipofilling entails and the desired result. We look at where you would like volume increase, as well as where and how much of your own fat we can remove.

  • Depending on the location, this treatment is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation (e.g. for facial rejuvenation) or under analgosedation with full anaesthesia (e.g. for breast augmentation).

  • After careful disinfection, we remove the donor fat, which is fragmented into oil, serum and pure fat tissue in a centrifuge.

  • This allows us to isolate the pure fat and inject it into the desired areas.

  • The result is rejuvenation with minimal wounding and scarring afterwards.

  • The procedure is practically pain-free.

Lipofilling pros and cons

  • Using your own fat offers fewer complications, unlike artificial fillers.

  • Since no foreign body products are involved, the results are very good and safe.

  • The skin of the treated area also becomes stronger and more elastic afterwards.

  • In breast augmentation, lipofilling is quasi-painless, unlike breast prostheses.

  • Some cells may die as a result of the transplantation.

  • Usually, one lipofilling offers the desired result. A higher desired volume requires a second procedure.

  • A limited amount of one's own fat can be transferred. With larger amounts of fat, the fat cells die and are broken down in the body. As a result, the result of lipofilling decreases. Normally, 60-70% of fat cells survive.
